Dr Richard Tiner

Dr Richard Tiner is the Medical Director of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI).

He qualified in medicine in 1974 and following junior doctor posts in Kettering and Taunton he worked as a Principal in General Practice in Somerset for 17 years.

In 1996 he joined the ABPI as Medical Director and his current responsibilities include NICE Clinical Guidelines, regulation of clinical trials, development of paediatric medicines, liaison with medical organisations, antibiotic resistance and cancer.

He is also a non-executive director of MLI Ltd, a not-for-profit company that investigates research misconduct.
